Silver Jewellery Classes in Dorset

I have been teaching Silver Jewellery making classes for about ten years now, mainly to adults, but have taught short courses at Canford School, near Wimborne previously.  I love to see students work progress, from the very beginnings watching students learn to solder or set stones for the very first time, to exploring new processes and developing their own style.

I ran the Silver Jewellery Short Course at the Arts University in Bournemouth for many years and am currently running a new Silver Jewellery making class at Dorset Center for the Creative Arts in Poundbury, near Dorchester in Dorset. In the day and evening.

In the new year I will also be teaching weekly classes at White Stones Cafe Gallery on Portland.  It is a very exciting time for White stones.  Shortly  the sustainable Artists' Studio and Eco holiday accommodation will be complete providing a wonderful location to stay and take part in the art classes which will be happening there.

Also in the New Year I will be running two one-day workshops at Sculpture by the Lakes.  Please see this link for more details.

Students Work

When I teach, I generally try not to have more than six students in a class, this allows a good level of contact time with everyone.  I tend not to be too prescriptive when teaching.  I like to let students find their own way and explore their own individual creative ideas, guiding them through each process to be learnt.

This is a piece made by one of my Students.  A silver fully articulated bracelet with rutilated quartz beads. This student made earrings and a pendant to add to this collection.
