I have a special interest in Gemmology, and stone setting so there are always plenty of gemstones used in designs,
I’m Kate, I have worked as a jewellery designer/maker for 30 years and have been teaching silver jewellery classes for around 17 years.
After finishing a Metals course at Plymouth College of Art I then started working in trade work-shops on the South Coast as a jobbing jeweller, doing repairs, ring re-sizing and alterations. The next

After finishing a Metals course at Plymouth College of Art I then started working in trade work-shops on the South Coast as a jobbing jeweller, doing repairs, ring re-sizing and alterations. The next step was a move to Wimborne where I was resident jeweller at Walford Mill Crafts, where I had my own studio and developed various collections, and enjoyed taking on commission work. It was here I started to teach, then at Bournemouth and Poole College and The Arts University in Bournemouth, where I taught an evening class for recreational silver jewellery students for nine years.
