Bespoke Jewellery Retreat

Fancy time to immerse yourself in jewellery making on a jewellery retreat on the beautiful Isle of Portland? 

Bespoke jewellery retreats including accommodation in a Portland stone cottage nearby, are suitable for people with previous jewellery making experience, or complete beginners.  The courses run from two to five days.  Can be 1:1 or small groups, and costings are on application. Starting from £350 for one person, for one day,  including accommodation. 

It maybe that you are a jewellery wishing to re-boot your designs, or it may be that you are at the beginning of your jewellery making journey, know the basics of jewellery making and want to develop your own style.  Course dates are arranged when convenient for you.

We will look at design processes enabling you to develop your own unique style. Discuss ways of finding inspiration and how to incorporate and record it.

I will introduce a number of different processes such creating surface textures and pattern with  Keum-Boo, granulation and reticulation.  Also the creation of three dimensional forms with fold forming and anti-clastic raising.  We will also cover stone setting techniques such as bezel and flush setting.  In the latter half of the week you will then have the opportunity to blend any processes you enjoy creating your own new unique designs.
